The background

Bach's Fusion

Bach’s orchestral music and concertos always score highly in the classical music charts. Like a master fusion chef, Bach used ingredients from all over Europe in these genres, and especially from Italy, including music by his famous colleagues Vivaldi and Marcello.

In this programme, Shunske Sato unravels Bach’s recipe book.“

Other masters used this technique as well and half a century later, Mozart was scrounging from Bach himself. In this programme, Shunske Sato unravels Bach’s recipe book. His virtuoso violin playing and the brilliant timbres of our instrumental ensemble cook up a true spectacle.
