Christmas Oratorio
Christmas wouldn’t be complete without the Christmas Oratorio. The Bach Society, too, is celebrating the birth of Jesus with this wonderful work.

In his individual and inspiring way, Shunske Sato will lead the ensemble in the first three cantatas, which present the whole nativity story – from the birth in the stable to the visit from the shepherds. The hall will be filled with familiar sounds: the charming Sinfonia that opens the intimate second movement and the festive trumpet fanfares and timpani in the closing section. In between the cantatas, Shunske Sato will present lesser known, yet beautiful Christmas repertoire, by Stölzel and Buxtehude.
