The Netherlands Bach Society has a long tradition of Lamentation concerts: an intimate concert early in the morning on Good Friday and Holy Saturday, prior to the St Matthew Passion.

Donald Bentvelsen has been a stalwart of the Netherlands Bach Society’s vocal ensemble for years and is an old hand at Flemish Renaissance polyphony with the Egidius Quartet. This year, he is compiling a programme around the five-voice lamentations by Thomas Crecquillon.
