St Matthew Passion cancelled
In March 2020, the corona pandemic broke out, meaning that all the performances of the St Matthew Passion had to be cancelled. For the third time in the 99-year existence of the Bach Society, no St Matthew Passion was performed in Naarden.

However, some of the residents started up a special initiative. On Good Friday at 11.00, the bells of the Grote Kerk in Naarden rang out for a minute, after which the aria 'Erbarme dich' was heard from open doors and windows throughout the whole of Naarden-Vesting.
